These pictures are miniature houses that I made in my backyard. When I was young, my mother told me about little fairies that would visit me and leave their homes behind during the day. She would be gone working for a while, telling me she was in the backyard weeding or working in the garden. Then she would come inside and tell me, " Emma, a fairy house is in the garden!" Or the yard, or at the park. They seemed to be everywhere! During months that no houses showed up, I would run up and ask her, "Where did the fairies go?". Mom would smile and tell me that they were busy. "If you look for them, they will be scared and hide." Every time I mentioned the absence of the little homes, the next day one would appear. Later, I learned they were non existent, but the fun goes on! My sister still loves looking outside for the fairy houses, and I get the job of making them! The pictures below show the 4 most recent houses I have made. Everything is held together with only natures materials, no glue of twine makes them stick! Unfortunately, this means they don't stay very long depending on where you put them. :)It is still fun to make them, just to remember what it was like while I was a child. It's so much fun to spend time outside and using it for a craft that I like, that also makes my sister happy.
